Dr. San-San L. Cooley received her undergraduate and graduate education at the University of Minnesota, earning her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees. She continued on to obtain her Doctorate of Optometry, graduating magna cum laude from The Ohio State University, College of Optometry.
She was selected to become part of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society and also received the Patient Care Excellence Award and the William Feinbloom Low Vision Award. Following graduation, Dr. Cooley completed a residency focusing on the management and treatment of ocular disease at the Cincinnati Eye Institute.
Dr. Cooley is a current faculty member at The Ohio State University, College of Optometry. As Clinical Assistant Professor and attending doctor, she supervises interns and examines patients in Primary Vision Clinic, Ocular Disease Clinic, Vision Rehabilitation Clinic, and at the Student Health Center. Dr. Cooley is also an instructor for clinical skills labs at the OSU College of Optometry.
Dr. Cooley is an active member of the Ohio Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association, and the American Academy of Optometry. She is involved in the community as a member of LifePoint Church, and is a presenter of “Realeyes,” an education program that teaches children and their parents about eye health and safety. She has volunteered on an optometric service mission with Student Volunteers for Optometric Service to Humanity (SVOSH), providing eye care to underserved populations in Ecuador.
Dr. Cooley is certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry. She practices full scope optometry and sees patients of all ages providing vision and ocular health examinations, prescription eyeglasses and contact lenses, diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases, emergency eye care, and referral services for various ocular conditions.
